His eyes were
kind as shade trees
inviting and wide,
as he now towered over her.

He moved about
careful as change,
solemn and slow,
as he stroked her hair.

His crux was
Faithful as a stream,
steady yet progressing,
As he laid her to rest.

Her room was
Empty as time,
quiet and haunting,
lifeless as her own body.
