Creativity and Beauty Quotes

Last night, I got the privilege to speak at 212 about the creativity and beauty of God.  It was a great night, and it was so much fun to research and engage with the students.  However, in the process of my research, I found some really sweet quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson.  I didn’t end up using any of them for my talk, but they were too good not to share.  It’s amazing that God has brought beauty in this world and gives us the power to respond to it!

“And yet—it is not beauty that inspires the deepest passion. Beauty without grace is the hook without the bait. Beauty, without expression, tires.”
– Emerson

“Things are pretty, graceful, rich, elegant, handsome, but, until they speak to the imagination, not yet beautiful. This is the reason why beauty is still escaping out of all analysis.”
– Emerson

“The most useful man in the most useful world, so long as only commodity was served, would remain unsatisfied. But, as fast as he sees beauty, life acquires a very high value.”
– Emerson
